Career Scout ยท last updated 2 November 2026
Career Scout is a personal job-search tool run by David Lambert (Lungisa) for his own use. It has one user, David, and only his Google account is connected to it.
What Google data it uses
- Send email (Gmail, send only). Career Scout sends emails to David's own address: job digests, a weekly summary, and one email per role he applies for. It cannot read, search or delete any email.
- View Google Drive files (read only). Career Scout opens the tailored CV documents made for David's applications and exports them as PDFs, so they can be attached to the emails above. It never changes or deletes Drive files.
How the data is handled
- The exported PDFs are attached to an email to David and not kept anywhere else.
- The Google sign-in token is stored as an encrypted secret on Cloudflare, where Career Scout runs.
- Job listings and David's application notes are stored in a private Cloudflare database.
- No Google data is sold, shared with anyone else, used for advertising, or used to train AI models.
Career Scout's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Removing access
Access can be withdrawn at any time from Google account permissions. Career Scout then stops sending email or reading Drive files.
